§ 13.14.030. Permit required

  • A. A sewer hook-up permit must be obtained from the City of Angoon prior to making a connection to a public sewer. All work must be inspected and coordinated within the wastewater board.

    B. A person may not install or modify an on-site sewer system without a permit from the wastewater board except for simple repairs. A separate permit is required for each installation or modification. Soils analysis reports for soil absorption systems are required for designs and permits.

    1. All permit applications must be prepared by and bear the original signature of the applicant or an authorized representative. Such applications must be submitted to the wastewater Board on forms provided by the board.

    2. An application for a permit for installation or modification of an on-site sewer system must include a site plan, bearing the original signature and stamp of a professional civil engineer, which shall include a design of the sewer system.

    C. The wastewater board may require submission of additional information prior to the issuance of a permit.

    D. No on-site sewer system may be used until the wastewater board of a professional civil engineer has inspected and approved the installation in accordance with this section.

    E. Issuance of a permit does not constitute the assumption by the City of Angoon or its employees of liability for the failure of any sewer systems.
