§ 2.12.020. Qualifications

  • In addition to voter qualifications established by state law, the mayor must have been a qualified voter and resident of the city for at least two years or more immediately preceding his election. If, upon certification of the election results, it is found that no candidate for mayor meets this requirement, the council shall elect a mayor without regard to length of residence.
