§ 8.04.010. Intent

  • A. It is the intent of the city council to create an organization to represent the community's interest in health matters and to be responsible to the community for the promotion of the optimum physical and mental health, and social well-being for the members of the community. The city council's intent is to:

    1. Indicate and emphasize the importance placed upon community health by the city council;

    2. Clearly define authority and responsibilities of the health council and its members;

    3. Vest the health council with authority to serve and represent the community in matters of health and social welfare;

    4. Give status, confidence and motivation to members to be an active, working group.

    B. It is not the city council's intent to restrict health related activities, but to promote initiative and effectiveness in the conduct of those activities.
